Speaking is located in the Baltimore-Washington
Metropolitan area and is directed by Lynda Katz
Wilner, M.S., CCC-SLP,
a Maryland licensed Speech and Language Pathologist and a
Corporate Communication and Voice Specialist. Ms. Wilner
is certified by the American
Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and has been
working with clients for over thirty years. She
received
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hearing and Speech Science from
the University of Maryland and a Masters of Science degree
in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of
Michigan.
She is certified by the Institute of Language to provide
foreign accent modification with the Compton P-ESL program
and by
LDS and Associates to provide foreign accent modification
with the Mastery of Effective English program. She is a member
of TESOL (Teachers of English to Students of Other Languages),
with a particular interest in the English for Specific
Purposes division. She is also a member of ASTD (American
Society of Training and Development), a
member of Chesapeake Human Resources Association (CHRA),
and was the
Vice President of CORSPAN (Corporate Speech Pathology Network)
for 2005-2006.
Her company,
Successfully Speaking, provides professional
speaking skills training for individuals and groups. She has
worked with major hospital systems, corporations, technology
firms, research laboratories, and law offices in the Baltimore and Washington area. She
has developed her own unique and comprehensive training
program for accent modification with the medical profession and has collaborated with her colleague, Marjorie Feinstein-Whittaker,
to publish RULES and Medically
Speaking RULES, an innovative,
comprehensive, cutting-edge approach to accent modification
designed for intermediate to advanced English speakers.
Lynda Katz Wilner is an Adjunct Faculty member at the Community
College of Baltimore County, on the Essex and Catonsville
campuses where she teaches international allied health students.
She also operates a clinical practice and evaluates and treats
school age children and adults with speech, language, and
voice disorders.
Individual
and group treatment and training are offered in our Owings Mills office or at the workplace.
